Trip Formation:

As part of our Mission Trip, we have partnered with Maryknoll, a Catholic organization that has been the heart and hands of the U.S. Catholic Church’s mission work. Maryknoll affiliates will present a one-day formation session that will spiritually prepare attendees for this trip. The date of this session is still being finalized.

Come be His hands and Feet!

"Yours are the hands in which He blesses the World"

- St. Teresa of Avila

Good Shepherd is thrilled to be offering families and adults a mission trip opportunity in July where parishioners can work in solidarity with people in need. Partnering with Catholic Mission Trips, Inc. (http://catholicmissiontrips.net/), Good Shepherd parishioners will travel to South Texas to do home repair and renovation projects for the poor in the community. There also may be an opportunity to support immigrant intake through Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.

We will stay at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle Retreat Center in San Juan, Texas (http://www.olsjbasilica.org/) and go offsite daily to complete mission work.  At the end of the work day, we will return to the Basilica for group reflection, prayer and other fun activities.  We also will be able to attend Mass and participate in Eucharistic Adoration during our trip.
