Good Shepherd Catholic Community Choirs and Ensembles
Children’s Choir: The ensemble is open to all Youth form Grades 3-8. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings in the St. Cecilia Music Hall from 6:00-7:00 PM Top
Treble Choir: The ensemble is open to the middle school youth. They lead music at the 5 PM Vigil Mass and rehearse from 4:00-5:00 PM on Saturday afternoons in the St. Cecilia Music Hall. Top
Parish Choir: The Parish Choir sings at the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Sunday masses, respectively, and comprised of singers and instrumentalists. The choir welcome members of all ages—high school age through adults. The repertoire encompasses all styles of music, from chant and Renaissance motets to twentieth century anthems, sung a cappella or with piano or organ accompaniment. They rehearse Wednesday evenings in St. Cecilia Music Hall from 7:00 to 9:30 PM and one-half hour prior to each mass. Top
4 Hymn Ensemble: This group leads the worship at the 4:00 PM Sunday mass. The repertoire is both traditional and contemporary and is accompanied by piano, guitar, and other instruments. They rehearse Sundays in the St. Cecilia Music Hall prior to mass, 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Top
Cantors: The ministry team members must have a pleasant singing voice, ability to read music, and capable of leading the assembly in the sung portions of the liturgy. An audition is required. Top
Instrumentalists: This aspect of music ministry is for those players who possess an ability to read music and produce an acceptable tone quality on the respective instruments. An audition is required. Top
Youth Orchestra: Good Shepherd Youth Orchestra consists of students from grades seventh through twelfth. Most of the players are GSCC parishioners but all are welcome. The season runs from October through July.
Rehearsals occur twice a month on Sundays from 12:30-2:00 PM in St. Cecilia Hall. The orchestra plays at a parish mass once a month. So, the ensemble meets three times a month.
The special events include: the GSCC Christmas concert in December, an outreach Christmas concert (TBA), Christmas Eve mass, stations of the cross in Lent, and Easter Sunday mass.
To join, a student must be in a school band program. There is no audition required at this time. Top
Handbell Choir: The ensemble ministers for various liturgies. The ensemble rehearses on Mondays in the Church from 6:30-8:30PM Top
Singing Bowls: The strikers call the assembly to prayer prior to each mass. Top
