At Good Shepherd, we root the sacraments in the ongoing life of faith: worshiping together, pursuing holiness, and serving as one parish community. Godparents and sponsors joyfully bear witness to the Catholic faith, standing with the Church to affirm their own commitment to Christ and to support the spiritual journey of the one they sponsor. To ensure that our godparents are witnesses to our faith, we ask that all godparents be active parishioners: registered for at least six months, attending Mass regularly, and engaged in parish life by tithing, volunteering, or participating in a parish group.
If married, you must be in a canonical marriage. Parishioners who live these commitments may request a letter of good standing as a sign of our parish’s trust and support in their role. These same expectations also apply to those requesting a tuition discount for Catholic school.
