Medical Care & Testing
Organizations that provide specialized medical services including pregnancy testing, STI/STD testing, ultrasounds, as well as other medical care outside of pregnancy. Emergency medical services are not included in this category.
Food Pantry
Organizations that provide food directly to those in need.
Material Needs (Mom & Baby)
Organizations that provide material needs such as diapers, wipes, clothing, strollers, etc. for baby. For moms, it would be items like clothing, shoes, toiletries, etc.
Housing
Organizations that assist in locating permanent affordable housing, temporary shelter, or transitional housing. Also included are pregnancy homes that provide housing as part of their program for moms with unplanned pregnancies.
Childcare
Organizations that offer a range of activities and programs, including personal care, supervision, education, guidance, and transportation of children up to school age.
Financial Assistance
Organizations that provide monetary emergency assistance for rent, utilities, minor miscellaneous expenses, minor car repair, pharmacy, gas, bus passes, etc.
Emergency Services
Organizations that provide 24/7 hotline for consultations, advice and information. This is not intended to be for services 911 would offer – police, ambulance, or firefighting.
Domestic Violence Assistance
Organizations that offer a safe, supportive environment for women and their children who find themselves in an abusive relationship. Also, providing services such as housing, counseling, material needs, etc. specifically for those coming from a domestic violence situation.
Employment
Organizations that provide assistance in securing employment, such as employment coaching, interview skills, job search techniques and support, employment skills and tools, networking groups, etc.
Education
Organizations that provide classes for GED, vocational training, technical/medical certification, and job skills necessary to secure employment in today’s work world. Parenting classes are a separate category.
Counseling
Mental Health practices that offer individual, couples, group, family, children and adolescent counseling by Board Certified counselors. Also included are organizations or individuals that provide support through retreats, group meetings or one-on-one peer support.
Drug & Alcohol
Organizations that offer in-patient and out-patient treatment for dependency on alcohol/drugs to achieve and maintain abstinence.
Parenting
Organizations that offer classes on a range of topics designed to guide parents through pregnancy, childbirth, baby care and beyond as well as how to better navigate familial and parent-child relationship(s).
Legal Aid
Organizations that provide free or subsidized legal services, legal representation and advice, strategic litigation, and access to the justice system.
Adoption
Organizations that facilitate adoptions between birth parents and adoptive parents.
Family Planning (THERE ARE NO RESOURCES IN THIS CATEGORY AT THIS TIME)
Organizations that provide education and information on natural family planning and infertility (not necessarily a free service).
Transportation
Organizations that provide free or low-cost transportation to those who do not have access to reliable or public transportation, including trips to work, job interviews, training, education, medical appointments, childcare and transport of victims of domestic abuse to safety.
Dental
Organizations that provide free/subsidized care for general exams and consultations, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, crowns, and bridges.
